ABSTRACT: Clay soils is one of soil type that has worse characteristic evaluated from strength and supporting capability. This research aim to to get shear strength parameter which consist of cohesions value (c) and the friction angle value () of undisturbed clay soil and the change of the value after getting stabilization treatment with waste material of building. Clay soil is taken from area of Brawijaya University. Research conducted at undisturbed clay soil and at disturbed clay soil which have stabilization condition with 0%, 3%, and 6% of waste material of building and compacted by standar compaction method. Result of research indicate that addition of waste material of building as stabilization material can improve cohesion value (c) of clay soil. Addition 6% of waste material of building can improve cohesion value equal to 96,993% from condition of undisturbed soil. Addition of waste material of building also can improve friction angle value of clay soil (). With addition 6% waste material of building into clay soil, friction angle value of clay soil () go up equal to 57,182% from undisturbed clay soil. Than correlation test can be proved that addition of waste material of building as stabilization material is very real and has big influence to cohesion value ( c) and friction angle value (). This could known from correlation coefficient value (r) which relative near one and determinant coefficient value ( Kp) closing 100%.
