ENGINEERING JOURNAL : PEMANFAATAN BATUAN BROBOS SEBAGAI BAHAN PENGGANTI AGREGAT KASAR DARI BATU PECAH UNTUK BETON

ABSTRACT: Exploiting and usage of stone waste of brobos in the place of concrete coarse aggregate is one of the solution which is proper to be considered. So, exploiting of this waste do not only for embankment material or thrown off hand, but also have better technical and economic value so that can improve economics of the society whose own this waste remains. This research aim to know comparison between stone of brobos (green, yellow and turn white) as substitution of crushed stone aggregate in the place of concrete coarse aggregate in the same treatment.
Concrete in this research use comparison 1:2:3 at 7 day and use sand from the river of Kalimanjing as fine aggregate. The comparator concrete is made from brobos stone in the same zone of crushed stone.
The result of this research, conclude that usage of brobos stone in the place of coarse aggregate in concrete mixture create lower value compression strength than concrete using crushed stone aggregate. This matter is caused by brobos stone material type have smaller density level as well as owning chalk content which ought to may not be used in concrete mixture. Data processing saw that level of comparison of degradation of strong value depress concrete with stone mixture of brobos green is 15,865 kg/cm2 with percentage of degradation 8,12 %, white brobos equal to 19,922 kg/cm2 with percentage of degradation 9,98 %, and brobos turn yellow equal to 64,433 kg/cm2 with percentage of degradation 34,21 %.
