ENGINEERING JOURNAL : ANALISA CRIPPLING SEBAGAI DASAR UNTUK MENENTUKAN PLASTICITY FAILING STRESS PADA STRUKTUR YANG MENDAPAT BEBAN TEKAN MURNI

ABSTRACT

Buckling phenomena at elastic region is easy to be analyzed because there are some mathematical equations and some experiments of this. This phenomena would be difficult if the case is at plastic region. In this case, the phenomena is used to be called crippling. Advanced studied of this crippling is very needed because the equations of this phenomena are semi-empirical equations only. In this research, Al-7075 T6 and Al-7150 T77511 z type stringers are used to be experimented. The specimens are divided into six types and each type has two samples. Strain gauges are placed back to back on three sides. Crippling phenomena could be known through the graph of stress and strain curve. At the crippling phenomena, one of the back to back strain gauges would be stress and the other would be press. The results of this experiment show that semi-empirical equation could be used to analyzed crippling phenomena because the different results are small. The different is about 1.73 % to 12.24 %.
