ABSTRACT

Sediment transport rates for this wind wave model was used Komar's coeffisien (1983) of energy flux. The 10 years period of wind data which has speed 10 knots or above and it's direction was chosen. The wave forecast used forecasting curves for shallow water waves from CERC (1973). The research used 4 points of the experiment stations. The aims of the research is to determine the significant wave height, sediment transport rate and the sediment movement pattern. Besides, this'accretion and sediment movement pattern will be proven by using the satelite image interpretation, maps and the MREPP result. The east wind (900) has longer period than the west wind (2700). But, the west wind is stronger than the east wind. It's known from the wave crest angle that sediment movement in Madura strait follows the Longshore transport pattern and moves to the south. Net longshore transport Qn for the east wind is 1232 m3/day and 1846,5 m3/day for the west wind. The same result were showen by satelite image interpretation, maps and the MREPP results.

Key words: sediment, energy flux
