ABSTRACT: Muffler modification design effect to sound pressure level exhaust system. In this research, want to look straight through muffler performance with cuprum coated mangan as catalytic converter to sound pressure level Honda Karisma X 125D exhaust system.The experiment was carried out at Fuel and Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory Mechanical Engineering Departement FTI - ITS. The test method is done by sound pressure level static test with S II 0415-81 standard. Data analysis is done by using descriptive methods. From result research shows that the use of straight through muffler with cuprum coated mangan as catalytic converter can increases sound pressure level exhaust system each engine rpm. 170 gr Cu + 30 gr Mn is the best composition to increases sound pressure level exhaust system is up to 3,7%.
