ABSTRACT
The examinations was done by immersing workpieces in the solution of nitrat acid and alcohol, while every workpieces was hitten the corrosion with various times. After doing the corrosion process, the workpieces was weighed to know the lost weight.
The result of examinations shows that manganese alloy steels have a faster corrosion speed caused the emergence of cathode and anode areas; while intermediate carbon steel have the capacity to accept a more good corrosion. The low carbon steels have the lower corrosion speed. The analysis show that is was more long the time of corrosion, then it was more lower the time of corrosion. It was caused the decrease of the solution concentration, therefore the solution was more thick.
Keywords: Low carbon steels, intermediate carbon steels, manganese alloy steels, corrosion speed.
