ENGINEERING JOURNAL : RANCANGAN PERANGKAT LUNAK UNTUK SISTEM KONTROL OPERASI DALAM PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA AIR (PLTA) DENGAN TREE ALGORITHM

ABSTRACT

The modern power plants are of three main kinds: hydroelectric plants, fossil fuel plants, and nuclear plants. All power plants use large alternating-voltage generators to produce electric energy. In a hydroelectric power plant (PLTA), water from a river, a lake, or a reservoir created by a dam is directed against the blades of turbine by gravity. The water pressure causes the shaft of the turbine to rotate. This shaft turns the rotor of a generator. The important kind of this session is a control system, like the hardware control systems and the software control systems. In the hardware control system, we can control the machines, such as the turbine rotating or the power of the generator. Besides, in the software control system, we can control the operation of the system, such as the data of the current, voltage and power or the information about the water level, flood control and the water navigation. The design of the software was use to classified the user in the operation of hydroelectric operation systems. So that, only the user who had the authorized and responsibility, can operate the instructions of the software system. This design used the structure of tree algorithm, with three levels of user classifications, such as super user, group leader, and regular user. That design of user classifications, applied at two basic numbers, the first is the group number (g) and the second is the member number (m). Both of the numbers had the value from 0 until 255. From the simple simulations, it seems that the passwords in the software design could controlled the user operations of PLTA with effectively and efficient.
