ENGINEERING JOURNAL : PENAMPILAN GENERATOR MAGNETOHIDRODINAMIKA DINDING HANTARAN DIAGONAL PADA KONDISI PLASMA NON-UNIFORMITY

ABSTRACT: Results of numerical studies of a diagonal conducting wall magnetohydrodynamic generator using one-dimensional computational methods are presented. The system evaluated was the hypersonic vehicle electric power system scramjet-driven magnetohydrodynamic generator. The working plasma for the magnetohydrodynamic power system was generated from combustion of ethylene in oxygen enriched air with NaK ionization seed addition for simulation condition. The analyses results provide one-dimensional solutions for the plasmadynamics and electrodynamics parameters. The computation with non-uniformity plasma condition using the one-dimensional code resulted performance effect of electrical power output increasing by non-uniformity plasma factor decreasing. In this case was obtained that electrical power output at level 30.43 kW with condition of non-uniformity plasma factor of 2.0.
