ABSTRACT
The earthquake activity development in Indonesia in recent years is very worrying. This situation must be anticipated by some efforts to prevent the structural failure which induced by earthquake forces. This research aim to get the influence of the re-entant corner configuration of the moment resisting frame system to the correlation of the torsional stiffness to the structural respons of the reinforced concrete multistory building. This research use 4 (four) models of eight-story reinforced concrete office building. The 1st model describe as 8 (eight) story building structure which have simetrical plan configuration in the X-direction and Y-direction. The 2nd to the 4th models is building structure model which have re-entrant corner about: 17% for 2nd model, 33% for 3th model , and 42% for the 4th model to the biggest size of building structure plan dimension in the re-entrant corner side. The gravity load analysis and the static equivalent analysis is used to design the first model structure. Then, all of models will analyzed by time-history analysis to get the value of the respons parameter. The research shows that configuration factor will influence structural stiffness and structural respons which induced by earthquake excitation. The research conclude that changes in the plan configuration of building will arise torsional stiffness of the building. The raising of torsional stiffness (X) will influence the behavior of the structural respons (Y) with regression equation: Y=9,0385E+09X-1,2460 for shear response, Y=9,462E+10X–1,2454 for overturning moment response, Y=1,1311E-13X3,66692 for torsional response, Y=1,5029E+11X–1,98787 for lateral displacement in the X-direction, and Y=6,759E-10X1,9123 for torsional displacement response
