ENGINEERING JOURNAL: APLIKASI SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS UNTUK MENDETEKSI POTENSI BENCANA TANAH LONGSOR dan BANJIR BANDANG

ABSTRACT: There are many landslide disaster potential area in Eastern Central Sulawesi.This landslides is potentialy triggering flashflood. I the middle 2007, a massive flash flood was struck in 4 district in Morowali residence. Beside Morowali Residence, the other residence which has the same problem is Tojo Una-una Residence. It since the two residence was located on the same mountain. So, it means the same catastrophic disaster wouldpossible occurred in the Tojo Una-una Residence in the next. From many rivers in Tojo Una-una’s residence, the most frequently occured flash flood is Podi River. However, the geospatial survey and field survey has worked on the site directly. The geospatial survey was made by satellite imaging then analyze it by some computer software, and make soe interpretation. The field survey has worked further by visual analyzing, taking picture for documentation, taking soil or rock sample, and interviewing the local citizens. The result is critical slope and damaged was observed, sedimented area, the potential area to sledge has appear. There are many additional important inforation got, such as the + 169,84 Ha critical slope fail area, the + 300 m height of critical slope, and the potential volume of the next landslide material is + 509.250.000 m3. From land survey, the information gets is the vegetation on the location is still in good condition. The top soil for plant nutrition and grew media just 1,0 – 2,0 m depth. The clay layer is only about 30,0 cm depth. The weathered rock is dominate on this soil stratification. Finally, it can conclude that the remote sensing technology is very helpful and useful to makes some preliminary interpretations. This results most followed by field survey to make sure and high accuracy about the real situations there. The landslides was caused by weathered rock, high rainfall intensity, mega landslides was occurred in up stream, The new landslide profile was made the contour bowl alike and this condition is believed why does The Podi River always caused flash flood in the huge amount.

ABSTRACT: High concentration of iron in water can cause aesthetic problems and unpleasant taste if the water is drunk. One of the methods used to remove iron is aeration. The objectives of this research is to get dimension of modification of tray aerator and sedimentation basin scale housing, so this is expected that output water already appropriate with the standard of water quality, it’s pursuant to decree of Health Minister, No 907/KEPMEN/2002. The result showed that for the reduce the iron of ground water at 5 mg/l, initialDO 3,5 mg/l and flowrate 0,18l/s is required dimensions aerator: perforated pipe with diameter 2 cm,length 53 cm, 100 orifice,orifice diameter 2mm, the distance between holes 5 mm. Sedimentation basin dimensions 200 cm x 50 cm, free board 11,3 cm.

ABSTRACT: In the low cost housing, the foundation that is often used is the stone foundation whose implementation require the mobilzation more materials and labor. While the project is currenly forced to be more rapid, efficient and higher quality. The application of precast system can be a solution. Precast foundation is a concrete foundation that molded and fabricated in casting yard and site installation. This study aimed to compare the use of the stone foundation with precast foundation in term of cost and implementation time. Results obtained by dimensional analysis calculation sloof and precast foundation for a length of 2 m is the 10/20 cm and 65x65 cm, length 3 m is 17/25 cm and 85x85 cm, and for length of 4 m is 23/33 cm and 100x100 cm. While the comparison of the two types of foundation show that the efficiency gained in the use of precast foundation of 5.14% on average with the acceleration of the implementation time of 56,93% on average.

ABSTRACT: Road flexible pavement was obviously designed to perform load traffic services in various environment and the others condition. One of the most pointed things here is about how to resist in humidity or water intrusion. This factor is became the most attending factor to evaluate. If the flexible pavement occurred, the primary damage was occurred in the surface. If the surface has defect, the water inrussion would able to enter and crushed the lower layer. This research has focused in the effect of water intrusion and its temperature variation on durability of Asphalt Concrete pavement. The bituminous was used here is Hydrocarbon Asphalt 60/70, Gravel as Coarse Agregate, Sand as Fine Agregate, and Rock Fly Ash as Filler. The flexible pavement characteristics was evaluated here is Stabiblity, Flof, VIM, VMA, and MQ. Soaking process has worked on 24oC, 30oC, dan 45oC, and the asphalt concentration in mix is 4%, 4,5%, 5%, 5,5% dan 6%. Duration of soaking is 1, 3, 5, and 10 days. The material specification is according to the Bina Marga and the testing procedure is according to the Indonesian regulation “Pelaksanaan LASTON Jalan Raya”. The chemical influence of water is not evaluated or measured here. All the sample was same made in dimension and its composition (5 samples was made on each test). After several calculation did the optimum asphalt content has 4,871%. The test results are shown the duration of soaking and rising temperature give significant influence for the stability value with average of durability index is 19,981%. The flow index is decreased in average 20,126%. The VIM index is increased in average 18,149%. The VMA index is inclined in average 5,05%. The MQ index is remain steady, since MQ is the result of proportion of stability and flow. In conclusion, the decline flexible pavement mix perform is still in the accaptable area of Bina Marga’s regulation above 75%. It means, the 10 days soaking duration of asphalt mix is still in acceptable. However, no further road surface layer recondition needed.

ENGINEERING JOURNAL: PENGARUH FAKTOR AIR SEMEN (FAS) TERHADAP TOUGHNESS BETON

ABSTRACT: Toughness is a measure which indicates the energy needed to happen propagation fracture/disintegration. This rigidity is often known as toughness. So perseverance is the rate of collapse of structures as determined by the ability of the material in order to dissipate energy. The purpose of this study are to examine the study for the Study of factors influence cement ais (fas) for normal concrete toughness. How to study includes the selection of materials ΓΈ20mm size of coarse aggregate; sieve 38 mm and 19 mm sieve and suspended fine, testing the physical properties of materials, mix design, specimen, density testing, self weight and compressive strength of specimens, as well as conclusion.The study shows: under FAS, it appears that the mixture containing the lowest FAS, namely 0:35 to give the value of compressive strength and modulus of elasticity is higher. When dipersentase visible; on FAS 0.45 = 20.98 MPa, increasing to 23.36 MPa at FAS 0.40 (11.34%) and increased to 26.68 MPa at FAS 0.35 (27.17%) . Also, the greater the compressive strength value achieved will show more ductile concrete. This can be seen from the value of Stress Intensity / Stress Intensity Factor (K) for the FAS 0.45 = 0.8267 N / m, rising to 0.8664 N / m at FAS 0.40 (4.80%) and increased to 0 , 9088 N / m at FAS 0.35 (9.93%).

ENGINEERING JOURNAL : PEMODELAN DEBIT ALIRAN BANGKITAN SUNGAI BEDADUNG DENGAN ARIMA

ABSTRACT: Data debit aliran mempunyai peranan penting dalam pengelolaan dan pengembangan sumberdaya air di sungai. Data debit aliran harus tersedia secara tuntut waktu (time series) dan akurat, sehingga tidak diperkenankan ada periode kosong. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu model yang dapat merekonstruksi atau memperkirakan debit aliran periode kosong tersebut secara stokastik. Salah satu pendekatan model time series adalah model ARIMA. Model ARIMA yang dikembangkan oleh Box dan Jenkins merupakan model peramalan data time series dengan melakukan identifikasi parameternya. Pada penelitian ini, model ARIMA diterapkan untuk peramalan debit aliran Sungai Bedadung. Data debit aliran diambil dari stasiun duga air Rawatamtu dengan periode pengamatan tahun 1990 – 2007. Data periode tahun 1990 – 2004 digunakan untuk identifikasi dan estimasi parameter model (kalibrasi). Sedangkan data periode tahun 2005 – 2007 digunakan untuk verifikasi model. Dari parameter model ini menunjukkan bahwa pola data time series nonstationer dan seasonal selama 12 bulan. Data time series nonstationer ini diubah menjadi time series stationer dengan bentuk transformasi yang dipilih adalah d = 1 dan D = 1. Dari running model ARIMA (1,1,1)(1,1,1)12 dengan paramater model AR (1) =0,6326 ; MA (1) = 0.9227 ; AR (1) = -0.1743 ; MA (1) = 0,7965 menunjukkan bahwa model ARIMA tersebut sudah cukup memadai. Dari hasil verifikasi menunjukkan bahwa model ARIMA (1,1,1)(1,1,1)12 ini memberikan hasil yang memuaskan. Oleh karena itu model ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pembangkitan atau peramalan debit aliran di Sungai Bedadung.

ABSTRACT: Indonesia is a country with high seismic activity, so that the infrastructure built to meet requirements for earthquake resistance. When an earthquake struck the structure must show a good performance. Structural design must meet the strong column weak beam concept, so that post-earthquake structural failure mechanism that occurred was the side sway mechanism. This study aims to determine the effect of reinforcement on beam area and the lateral column on the failure mechanism of reinforced concrete frame subjected to earthquake loading. The experiment was conducted on the structure of the building 4th floor with 16m high, and 4 span a width of 4m and 5m spacing portal. Beam dimensions 25cmx40cm, 50cmx50cm column, and plate thickness 12 cm. Building for offices in the seismic zone 3 with a moment resisting frame systems (MRFS) and hard soil conditions. Earthquake load is analyzed by the response spectrum analysis method. The structure analysis carried out with the structural analysis program of SAP 2000. Reinforcement beams and columns initially designed with the capacity design method. Failure mechanism of the building structure further examined by adding the intensity of earthquake load gradually. The results showed that the mechanism of side-sway collapse mechanism would be achieved if the initial design reinforcement area on first floor plus a beam of 44.01%, on the second floor beams for 14.80% and spacious fourth floor in the beam reinforcement reduced by 66.82%. Ideal mechanism to achieve after the collapse earthquake load is enlarged until it reaches 60%, with the realization of beam starting from fourth floor to floor in a sequence and finally a failure occurred on the ground floor columns.

ABSTRACT: Bamboo, wood, or another natural fiber as reinforced material on foundation application was not intensive research. Using Bamboo or another natural fiber needs to be research further for application. Those materials, especially bamboo was available everywhere. If those materials optimaly used, it can save more for the budget. This research was developed to determine the influences of placement skin bamboo woven as reinforcement below plate foundation related to incremental bearing capacity on loose sand. On this research the settelement of loaded foundation model will compared between two condition, with skin bamboo reinforcement and not.The previous research by Kumar and Walia (2006), Kumar and Saran S., (2004), C.R. Patra, B.M. Das, and C. Atala, (2005), H.A. Alawaji, (2001) using more in geosynthetic matter (geotextile and geogrid), steel plate or un-natural fiber as reinforcement material. The previous research more on strip continuous foundation, not in foot plate foundation.
The dimension of skin bamboo (Gigantohla Apus Kurs) woven uses is square 150,0 x 150,0 mm and 200,0 x 200,0 mm. Durability and realibilty of submerged bamboo is avoided. The foundation models are made by steel plate, round 100,0 mm diameter and square 100,0 mm on its side. The thickness plate models is 12,0 mm with stagging pipe 3” diameters 150,0 mm height. This research is field model test on moist and saturated loose sand. The loading test mode is static load test. Interval record time was taken 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30, 60, 120, 240, 480, 900 and 1800 seconds. The configuration of skin bamboo reinforcement is installed on distance 0.0 D, 0.5 D, and 1.0 D (D = Foundation Diameter) below foundation. The data will collect and grouped based on soil condition placement of reinforcement below foundation. Using variant analysis, it will determine reduction of settlement and incremental of bearing capacity of shallow foundation models.The resultss from this research are 1) The most optimum placement of skin bamboo woven as reinforcement is on the below of foundation (D = 0). 2) The incremental bearing capacity could reach is + 130,0 % (moist) and 19,9 % – 41,03 % (saturated). 3) The reduction settlement is 9,21 – 20,15% (moist) dan 11,23 – 26,55 % (saturated).

ABSTRACT: Drought has become one of the annual problems faced by Kupang Regency. Climate, geologic condition, and the quality of Basin do not support the water and land conservation; therefore water and land conservation have become the causes of drought. The consequence of drought is the lack of water for the community and agriculture which in turn decrease the farming production. This research aims at presenting the calculation of the drought index and the analysis of spatial distribution of drought in a map of monthly drought which reveals 3 levels of drought: low, medium, and high and identify the dry regions and the prediction of the widths. The map of drought index derived from the calculation of Drought Index Thornthwaite Method shows that the monthly Drought Index Rate (Ia) Kupang Regency in December to March has Low Drought index (Ia = 0%). Drought Index increases in April, while in May through October water deficit increases where Drought Index is medium to high. The peak of drought happens in September. In November Drought Index gradually decreases to medium and water surplus stars in December.The percentage of Dry Region Width in May varies: low level (12.8%), medium level (86.9%), high level (0.3%). In June it increases: high level (90.6%). In July through October, the region with high level of drought spread equally throughout Kupang Regency. In November, the percentage of dry region width varies once more: low level (13.0%), medium level (66.8%), and high level (20.2%). In December through April most of Kupang Regency’s region has low level of drought.

ABSTRACT: Procurement committee must meet the requirements include having moral integrity, discipline and responsibility in carrying out the tasks and skills certified by the procurement of goods / services of government. Project Tender allegedly played by unscrupulous organizers, indication, there is a hidden jobs, and determining the winning bidder is not transparent.This study aims to: 1) To know the effect of simultaneous factors personnel and expertise to the performance certificate procurement committee; 2) To determine the effect of partial factors of personnel and expertise to the performance certificate procurement committee, and 3) To determine the factors most affect the performance of the procurement committee.Inferential statistical analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis. In addition it also conducted significant testing, including testing the hypothesis F (simultaneous) and t test (partial). Results of analysis showed that the personnel variable and certified skills variable affect the performance of procurement committee, either simultaneously or partial. Personnel variable is a variable that has the greatest influence on the performance of the procurement committee.
